Who are we?

Coffee and Crayons is jointly owned and run by Elizabeth Goldschmied (known as Lee) and Lewin Chalkley.

Lee grew up in London and her background is very much to do with children. She trained as a Paediatric Nurse at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in 1994 and worked for a while within the NHS before taking a post as a school nurse in a London day school. She then had a daughter of her own, Ella, who is now 4 years old and is due another baby in November! It was from staying at home with Ella and going out and about with friends and their children that the concept of “Coffee and Crayons” first emerged.

Lewin’s background places him very firmly as the coffee expert (or Geek). He has worked for Pret a Manger opening and managing stores, spent a while in Human Resources for Virgin and went on to open and manage Progreso’s first 2 Cafes (an Oxfam initiative where coffee growers are shareholders in the business) Lewin never ceases in his eternal quest to serve the perfect espresso! He can talk about coffee forever! Lewin’s interests include brewing Ale, bikes, playing Calypso and dancing like a monkey.

Lee’s experience and love of children and Lewin’s passion for coffee and customer service make them perfectly suited to the running and development of “Coffee and Crayons” and they are very proud of the environment they have created for the parents, nannies, carers and children of London to enjoy – not to mention the local residents and workers of Fulham who regularly enjoy the delicious coffee, iced lattes and snacks served in the friendly environment of 915 Fulham Road.
